Amy has over seventeen years of experience in the counseling field. Amy received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Lycoming College and her Master of Education Degree (with a Secondary School Certification) from Lehigh University. While at Lycoming, she spent a semester abroad at Oxford University in England. She uses an eclectic counseling approach with a cognitive-behavioral theory emphasis. She has worked in mental health counseling for Diakon Social Service Ministries and the Christian Counseling Clinic. She was a college counselor at Lycoming College, a High School Counselor in Canton, and a pre-marital couples counselor through the First United Methodist Church in Williamsport. Before coming to Genesis House, she worked for The Salvation Army in social work for four years. Through Amy’s work, she was instrumental in coordinating over 15 different organizations to create the Red Shield Community Garden in downtown Williamsport which benefits local food pantries and low income families.
Amy has been happily married to her college sweetheart for almost 20 years and they have three children. Outside of the office, Amy is involved in her church praise team, enjoys reading, and loves spending time with her family.
